Website for Actors recently had the great opportunity to develop actress Aighleann McKiernan‘s website. In talking with new clients we mention that finding a WordPress theme can be the hardest part of creating a website. There are SO many themes that at times it could be like finding a needle in a hay stack. What is also great is when a client finds a theme that we did not know about.
McKiernan did that when she said she wanted to use the theme Codium Extend. She also had the mindset that a clean and simple theme is best for actors. The free version of this theme was able to provide a simple, basic layout that allowed her the freedom to make edits to fit her brand and highlight her materials. Below are some screenshots of how we helped McKiernan edit the theme to fit her needs.

We are excited to kick off Theme Thursday with the WordPress them Expositio. As Wpshower explains on their website, “Expositio is a very simple & free portfolio WordPress theme for photographers, designers & artists. Expositio theme allows you in several clicks to showcase your works to the whole world. Adjustable main page lets you to provide any information. Integrated options panel helps to customize the template from font used to color theme.”
As we will talk about here, WFA is a fan of simple websites for actors. Depending on your target audience, the main goal of the website is probably for a casting director to see your reel or a director to see more of your work. This is a main reason why you want your reel on your home page. Secondly, the saying goes if someone can not find what they are looking for in two clicks, they are moving on.
